Favorite Things: Food, eating, playing with our pots and pans, shaking his head, bouncing, being held, squirming while being held, rolling his toys on the floor, dropping items onto the floor, climbing.
Favorite Destinations: The high chair (if food is present), the playroom, restaurants.
Favorite Person: Scotlen. Sadly, the feeling is not entirely mutual. Although Scotlen does do her Vanna White thing when we run into people in public. She waves her hands like she’s displaying a nice dishwasher and says “this is our son, Jonas.”
Least Favorite Things: Not eating, being put down after being held, being treated rudely by his sister.
That’s it. If there are other things he doesn’t like, he’s keeping them to himself. He’s so easygoing and patient, this boy. We went crazy and drove to Knoxville and back in the daytime this weekend. He watched movies and looked out the window and laughed at his sister. No crying. This is unprecedented for children in our family. We were vampiric long-distance drivers when Scotlen was a baby.
We held our usual gift-refusing party last night in his honor. He seemed to enjoy his new toys, though he honestly seemed to enjoy the tissue paper more:
Jonas seemed genuinely surprised to be sung to by all those present. He misinterpreted his piece of cake as a toy, and played with it until being force-fed a bite. Then he got into it with gusto:
