We have started to let Scotlen compose her own prayers, entirely. It's been interesting, and quite entertaining. She always starts out with the generic, "Dear God, help me with the things." We're not sure if this is an attempt to create a catchall for divine assistance, or an indication that she has already started hiding her activities from her parents. In any event, the prayers wander aimlessly from there, often hitting on the growth of plants and animals. We are usually able to keep a straight face, but the other night she included the following: "Please help the baby animals; and I hope they don't have to run from creditors." This was the moment we discovered that Kyle had been listening to a little too much Dave Ramsey on the ride home from school.
Jonas has also been busy. He had his 18 month doctor's appointment. He was in the 50th percentile in weight, 60th percentile in height, and just barely on the official chart (at the upper end) in head circumference. His favorite hobby of late has been exploring the various diversions that Scotlen's room has to offer.
