There are no lazy days at Easter around here. Starting with a school party for Scotlen on Thursday, our weekend was jam-packed with activities. Grandmommy and Grandfather arrived Friday morning. We all hit the bowling alley after lunch where Jonas was in absolute heaven. Then the boys watched golf while the girls went to Opry Mills. Grilled chicken, corn, and veggies followed. And finally some late night Easter shopping for Mom and Dad.
Saturday was just as busy. Kyle and Grandfather played golf while the rest of us went for a hike in Nashville around Radnor Lake. We saw ducks, turtles, geese, turkeys, and deer. Then we had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. We arrived home late that afternoon and for cooking and playing outside. Auntie and Alvaro arrived for dinner, which included steak kabobs, baked potatoes, salad, fudge pie, and soft serve vanilla.
Sunday we were up early to check out the bunny loot. Scotlen received a My Little Pony (Twilight Sparkle), squinkies, and a squishy triceratops. Jonas received a Thomas bath toy and lots of candy. But all he really cared about was the giant bowling set that the bunny delivered. We had a nice Easter breakfast and actually made it to church for the 9:30 service. The service included several numbers with a bagpipe, including Amazing Grace, and was a big hit.
After the Knoxville crew departed, we headed over to Uncle Todd and Aunt Mary Day's house for lunch, egg hunting, and Masters-watching. Our crew arrived home very tired and very satisfied indeed. All in all, an excellent Easter.
