Cape San Blas 2012

Due to all the wedding-planning craziness, we were late in making our beach reservations this year.  So we decided to try someplace new - Cape San Blas, Florida (a/k/a Florida's Forgotten Coast).  The Cape is a strip of beach surrounded by the Gulf and a sound just a few miles long.  There is little there except houses, a small grocery store, one gas station, and (to Kyle's great delight) a donut hut.  Apparently, it is called the forgotten coast because the cell phone companies forgot to put coverage there.  But, for as desolate as it was, we managed to get in some unique and fun activities, including grilling out, horseback riding on the beach and a bonfire (with s'mores)!  It seems that no matter where we go, the combination of beach and family time together makes for an excellent trip.
