Our little girl is six. SIX! I know this event is entirely predictable, but every year it comes with a certain degree of shock. Scotlen is now attending kindergarten, navigating complicated social waters, participating in group sports, and beginning to try, fail, and succeed on her own. She is also developing an ability to talk back. E.g. when asked to pick up her clothes the other night, she informed me that she was not my servant. Not that I would have ever been under that misconception. But with age also comes a wonderful capacity for kindness. Here's a snapshot of our big girl:
Favorite Things: Horses, My Little Pony, Harry Potter, coloring, Scooby Doo, animals, pretending
Least Favorite Things: tonsil surgery, medicine, being told what to do, being annoyed by her little brother
Career Plans: A conductor (following her field trip to the symphony)
Favorite Destinations: Sweet Ce-Ce's, Target, the zoo
Favorite Movie: Owls of Ga'hoole and Harry Potter (1&2)
Favorite Person: Bennett
