Ah, Halloween. The crisp fall weather. The bright leaves. The pumpkins. The candy. The endless talk of death.
Huh? Endless talk of death? Yes, it's our new Halloween family tradition. Scotlen has become very interested in all things death, especially graveyards. We have lately been forced to explain burials, coffins, mausoleums, and even cremation. To her credit, I suppose, she does not seem "freaked out" by all this talk, but I can't say the same for the rest of us. Scotlen now feels the need to point out all the graveyards we drive by and even requests that we drive through and view them. Kyle and I are just holding our breath for the next phase, and we have our fingers crossed for something a little more cheery, like deadly reptiles.
Despite all the death talk, the weekend has been a success. We celebrated Reed's twelfth birthday, which is unbelievable because I thought it was just last year that he turned seven. We also made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.
