We usually mock snow flurries, but this weekend we discovered that if it flurries enough, there will be actual accumulation. Enough to even sled - a little bit. It seems like there was a big snow almost every year when I was growing up - the kind that stayed around for days. But I had begun to fear that Scotlen and Jonas would never get to go sledding at all. Therefore, when we awoke yesterday to 1-2 inches of snow, we immediately started looking for a hill. In East Tennessee, finding a good sledding hill is not a problem. In Middle Tennessee, the hills you remember in your mind turn out to be gentle slopes when you arrive to go sledding. Luckily, we were finally able to put our golf course to good use in January, finding a couple of hills that would do the trick. After some initial hesitation, Scotlen was very pleased with the sledding, and refused to head back to the car despite the 18 degree temperatures.

We rounded out the winter experience by eating Chick-Fil-A at Mimi and Hots's house. Scotlen was presented with three chicken nuggets and several waffle fries. For those of you who are wondering, the chicken nuggets were the "healthy" part of the meal. Following some good conversation with Mimi, we heard Scotlen ask, "can I be all done, please." Having noticed the sly smile on her face, we then looked and observed this about her plate:
Nice try, young one.
