Scotlen has always said that she wants to be a famous doctor someday, but she only recently got a chance to put her skills to use. Kyle had prime seats for the Titans/Cardinals game yesterday. Top row, lower deck, under the overhang and out of the rain. At the end of the game, Vince Young valiantly drove the team down the field, converting a fourth and goal as time ran out to win the game. It was awesome. Kyle jumped into the air and raised his fists in triumph, right into the concrete overhang above him. He raised the roof. Literally.

There was blood, there was shredded skin. When Kyle returned home, he sadly showed off his wounds. Scotlen immediately sprang into action. “Don’t worry Daddy, I’ll fix it.” She ran to her playroom, where she keeps her doctor’s kit. We wondered – will he get a shot, a band-aid, will she take his vitals, perhaps the works. She returned, however, not with the doctor’s kit but with the Handy Manny tool set.

“Sit down Daddy. Hold out your hands. Now, let me get my hammer.” Kyle, God bless him, was very brave. She used the hammer, the tape measure, and apparently deciding that several of the fingers could not be saved, the saw.

So, in case you were wondering, it appears that Scotlen has narrowed her potential medical specialties to orthopedic surgeon or medical examiner.
